Airlines to North Cyprus

The easiest way of reaching North Cyprus is by air. More than 90 flights per week arrive at North Cyprus' Ercan International Airport during summer. There are 20 flights from three airports of London, Stansted, Gatwick and Heathrow, most of which arrive in the evening. There are no direct flights to TRNC. Direct air links exist only with Turkey, where all planes from Europe must first touch down. Prime operators being Turkish Airlines and Cyprus Turkish Airlines enable you scheduled daily flights to TRNC. Other operators like Onur Air, Pegasus Airlines and Atlasjet also fly you to North Cyprus. The stopover in Turkey usually takes place at one of the following airports: Istanbul, Izmir, Ankara, Adana or Antalya. In general, it lasts about an hour and, in the case of Cyprus Turkish Airlines and Onur Air, passengers are not normally required to change aircraft. However, when traveling with Turkish Airlines there is nearly always a change of an aircraft. Passengers are required to wait in the transit lounge and obtain a boarding pass of their ongoing flight to Northern Cyprus. You can also get charter flights that are available at weekends and during public holidays. The flight time between Northern Cyprus and main airports of Turkey is only sixty to ninety minutes.
