This is my story - something I never thought
I would ever have to do in my life! Whilst growing up within our close knit
Turkish Cypriot family in England, I never dreamed that I would end up returning
to North Cyprus to my roots. After leaving school I experienced a
range of professions but after the birth of
my husband and I’s first child I decided to do something for myself.
I think that was when I realised that there is nothing more rewarding and
challenging than working for yourself. So we then decided that we needed
a new challenge and after much discussion and soul searching Northern Cyprus
was the chosen destination! We left the UK in September 1999, coincidently
on my husband Mark's birthday (great present - one way ticket to Cyprus!)
and started the adventure of a life time. Unwin Estate Agents was born from
our combined experience in the real estate business and my attention to
detail (typical Virgo). The business has grown now to new levels however
our family remains the focal point of our lives. I personally feel that
the greatest challenge we have taken on was the setting up of ''. This was created from the urgent need of our own 3 children,
as although we were starting a new life, we never wanted them to be disadvantaged
by our desire to move away from the UK. Hence we employed the services of
some qualified teachers and started the first private Primary School recognised
by both the North Cyprus and UK Ministries of Education. To take on the
responsibility of educating other family's children is a huge task and something
we did not start without being fully aware. So far so good, North Cyprus
is a great place to realise dreams so why not come and visit?
